I didn’t know this term but it just made a lot of things click about my last few months. Thanks for writing this!

Totally forgot allostasis was even a thing. People love talking about cortisol this and cortisol that in the wellness space, but this post really puts into perspective what stress is doing to our bodies and what actual nervous system regulation looks like.

this!! cortisol is EVERYWHERE and has been deemed the enemy before anyone has had the chance to research why we need cortisol to survive.

Wow, this is amazingly written. I think we all know that feeling, that fuzzy feeling while our body is trying to find stability in an environment that constantly moves and changes. The part about the cellular cost really hit me. We know vaguely that stress shortens your life-span, but this is the way that happens and I feel like it’s so important to know what happens in our bodies! Amazing, thank you so much for sharing. I really loved this read, packed with information- loved it!

Love what you said about sleep scoring, Lara. I had thought about getting an app but decided against it. Glad I did now. I know if I have slept well by how I feel, no need to stress about not getting the right number 💕
